band - Ireyerta 1.2.07 interview w/Ireyerta

BP: What's up guys? How's the metal going these days?

Rusty and lacking luster. Oh wait, you're talking about music, well, metal is too hairy these

days. IT'S GOING GREAT!

BP: You guys are from Benton right? Are there alot of

metal bands in the Benton area?

Just one and I don't know if you have heard of them, Maelstrom. Two of our members

are in Maelstrom. Nathan, the guitarist, and Daniel, the singer.

BP: From what I've read, Ireyerta is only a few years old. When and how did you guys start up?

Wow I can't believe there is anything out there about us to read. Well, we started with our guitarist, drummer, and bassist. This was the begining of '05 I think. Ironically, our current singer, Daniel, joined us as a rhythm guitarist/singer, but he left because at the time, he listened to a much different style, like punk, alternative stuff. Mark Burger replaced him, and finally this summer after Daniel had got into metal, he came back on vocals. This summer was basically when we finally got our sound and got a set group for the band.

BP: I can honestly say that I haven't heard your music yet (I couldn't find any online), and I haven't seen you guys live either - so can you describe your music for me?

'Metal' or 'experimental'. We like to incorporate lots of time changes and complex guitar riffs, vocally it's traditional metalcore with screaming and singing alike.

BP: Awesome, can we expect any Ireyerta tracks posted online anytime soon?

We plan on putting tracks on Myspace as soon as we record our demo, which we would have done by now, but three of our members are doing basketball and that consumes a lot of their time.

BP: What makes Ireyerta different from all the other metal bands in the area?

We have a ridiculous name! Like I said before, the time-changing and complexity, other than that i guess we just like to have loads of fun when we play. Wear white occasionally!!!

BP: Does the band have anything recorded yet?

No, as we've said before, we plan on doing that asap!

BP: So far in the band's short history, what has been the highlight for you personally?

We would say the Battle of the Bands show at Poplar Bluff back in October. It was our breakthrough show for us, there was just so much energy. Great show.

BP: Tell me about your live shows. Does the band have alot of stage presence, or do you rely more on the music to convey your message?

We like to put on the best show we can, interact with the crowd, and still play to the best of our ability. Stage presence is important to us.

BP: Here's a fun question..... If you could pick any local band to tour the world with, who would it be and why?

Maelstrom!!!!!

BP: What does Ireyerta hope to achieve in the coming years?

Get the demo out of course, get signed and go on a world tour and make a billion dollars!!!

BP: Any shows coming up? Any thing you want to tell the people out there in internet land?

No shows so far because we've been setback, due to the other members dealing with basketball. Plus the holidays has slowed things down, but the next show we do maybe we can play with maelstrom??......

BP: Well good luck to you guys, and may you continue melting faces for years to come!

Thanks man. We appreciate the interview, and continue to do what your doing. We think this Banned Promotions thing is a good deal! Seeya!
